Scrum Better with Kanban
Scrum Better with Kanban (SBK) is a Kanban University course for teams already running Scrum — it shows how Kanban flow practices (visualizing work, limiting WIP, managing flow) can be layered onto Scrum to make sprints more predictable without abandoning the framework.
Who This Is For
Scrum and Agile practitioners, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, team leads, project/product managers, and Agile Coaches already running Scrum who want to layer Kanban flow practices on top of it — without abandoning the framework.
What You'll Cover
The Six Kanban Practices
Visualize, Limit WIP, Manage Flow, Make Policies Explicit, Establish Feedback Loops, Improve Collaboratively — layered onto an existing Scrum framework.
Evolutionary Change Principles
Changing gradually rather than disrupting a team's existing Scrum practice.
Identifying Variability and Bottlenecks
Analyzing where a Scrum team's flow actually breaks down.
Evidence-Based Improvement
Using visualized work and feedback loops to improve delivery predictability.
Course Details
Scrum Better with Kanban shows Scrum teams how to layer Kanban flow practices — visualizing work, limiting WIP, managing flow — onto sprints that are already running, without replacing Scrum.
This is a completion-based course — there's no exam. Graduates receive the Scrum Kanban Practitioner (SKP) credential from Kanban University, and — through a 2025 partnership with Scrum Alliance — can also earn a Scrum Alliance microcredential for the same course.
