Kanban Certification (KMP) Application Coaching

One-on-one or small-group coaching for people who've completed a Kanban University course and want help applying it to their actual workflow, not a classroom mock-up. There's no KMP exam - the credential comes from finishing the course. This coaching is about closing the gap between what you learned and what you do Monday morning.

Who This Is For

Anyone who's finished a Kanban University course and is staring at their actual team's workflow wondering where to start. This is not exam prep — there is no exam — it's the coaching that makes the training stick.

Signs You Need This

  • You finished Kanban System Design or Kanban Systems Improvement and have no idea how to turn the workshop board into something that works in Jira, Azure DevOps, or any other tool.
  • You already have a board, but it's just a to-do list with column headers — no WIP limits, no flow metrics, no service classes.
  • You need to pitch Kanban to a manager or PMO who only trusts status reports.
  • You tried to apply STATIK to your real workflow, and it fell apart the moment it stopped looking like the tidy classroom example.
  • You want the KMP credential but aren't sure what's actually required, because unlike SAFe, there's no exam to study for.

How This Works

Starting point

We look at your real board and your real flow metrics, not a hypothetical one.

Cadence

3 to 6 sessions over 4 to 8 weeks, timed to your Kanban cadence meetings (replenishment, delivery planning) so we're reviewing decisions you've actually made.

Between sessions

You run the board, I review what happened, and we adjust before the next meeting.

STATIK, applied

If you're still working through Systems Improvement, we walk your specific stakeholders and workflow through it together, not a generic template.

What Changes

  • You have a working board with real WIP limits and explicit policies, not a decoration copied from a slide.
  • You can read cycle time, throughput, and cumulative flow diagrams and actually act on them.
  • You can run a STATIK-style discovery session with real stakeholders in the room, not just recite the steps.
  • Your KMP pathway is complete, and so is the part the course doesn't cover: what to do with it.

Questions

Do I need this to pass the KMP exam?

There's no KMP exam to pass. Kanban University's certification is completion-based — you earn it by finishing an accredited course. This coaching doesn't get you a credential you don't already have; it helps you actually use what you learned on your real team, which is a separate problem worth solving on its own.

How is this different from just asking questions in a Slack community after the course?

Slack gets you general answers to general questions. This is me looking at your specific board, your specific metrics, and your specific stakeholders, and working through what's actually stuck. It's the difference between a forum post and someone sitting next to you.

Scoped to you or your group — not a generic coaching package.
